Undocumented workers tend to have worse socioeconomic conditions than those documented, which may make them more susceptible to suffering from diseases. Since disease and treatment may be a setback for economic growth or be geographically troublesome, such peoples may find searching for medical assistance a nuisance and this may delay diagnosis. These workers are more at risk for contracting Chagas disease since they usually work in plantations in rural areas and do not take measures against the vector for the disease.
