I think that biotechnology has many benefits in areas that cannot achieve their nutritional needs. In these areas, nutrition is so low that it is affecting their birth and survival rates thus contributing to poverty and not allowing these areas to grow economically. I think that a loss of biodiversity is a small price to pay when these communities will be able to gain needed nutrients that will lead to children being able to go to school and parents being able to work. This would then lead to more jobs and better economic gain for the communities and then hopefully in the long run these areas would learn how to get food that is enriched naturally and the biodiversity could be regained. I do not however think biotechnology is as crucial in areas where the people have unlimited access to foods with all of the needed nutrients and well balanced diets.
