Family planning services are rarely available in remote and rural regions of less developed countries, for a variety of cultural, financial and social reasons. An increase in the access to health care would also mean an increase in the opportunity to educate people on family planning.The promotion of family planning and access to contraceptive methods is essential to achieve the well-being and autonomy of women and, at the same time, support the health and development of communities. Therefore, family planning must be fully integrated into all development initiatives; both present and future.
