Hey everyone! I am Rebecca Takele. I grew up mostly in Northern Virginia and did my undergraduate at The University of Virginia before coming to VCOM-VA. I enjoy country music and catching up on my favorite tv shows when I can, like The Blindspot. I am taking this class because since volunteering at Zewditu Hospital in Ethiopia I have gained a profound interest in volunteering with Doctors Without Borders. While volunteering at Zewditu Hospital I saw the role that things like water systems and sources of nutrition play on the health of people in the community. I believe this class will make me more of aware of issues I may encounter in the future and ways that I can work around it when I become doctor. I look forward to working with you all these next 15 weeks.
